Our Love Story

Justin and Kayla met in 2021, in true Southern California style on the beach, where Justin DJ’d sun-soaked sets and Kayla thrived as a professional day partier.

Their story kicked off when Justin asked Kayla to jump into a beach volleyball game. She quickly replied, “I’m a soccer player,” expecting that to be the end of it. Justin just smiled and said, “Me too — I played at Cal Poly SLO.”

With her competitive spark activated, Kayla stood up and joined the game and the connection began.

From that day on, they became training partners, teammates, and each other’s favorite person to be active with. They spent the next year doing everything together: coed beach volleyball practices, track nights, training blocks, post-session dinners, and tournament weekends. What started as shared hobbies grew into a relationship built on friendship, respect, and an easy, undeniable connection.

Their bond deepened through long walks filled with honest conversations, early-morning coffee runs, and discovering how closely their values aligned — family, friends, building a home, and creating a meaningful life together.

After three years of dating, Justin proposed to Kayla in their favorite place: Hawai‘i.
